Family Cycling Staff

Annemarie - Sales & Web Stuff

Annemarie has one problem, addiction.  She just really likes to ride her bike, but the problem is that addiction takes over one's life.  So now Annemarie has a couple bikes, and the problems just keep unraveling.  Her addiction leads her to places like Bootleg Canyon, and along the way she gets stuck hanging out with Tehachapins in trailers with missing teeth and smokes in their places. Sounds crazy, I know.  Somehow she justifies her addiction by holding a steady job here at Family, and letting those she comes in contact with know that addiction is ok, if dealt with properly.  The best part about Family is that we support each-other no matter what, find the safe-haven Annemarie has, we promise no-interventions.

Bob - Manager

Bob is our shop manager....Always clued into the hottest gear, bikes, and hair styles for that matter, Bob is sure to have an answer for just about everyone.  If you got as many "Hey Bob's" in a week as this guy gets in a day you might rip your hair out, but, somehow our Bob manages to hold it together, and chooses to shave his head instead of the latter.  Bob Rips.

Chris - Sales

Chris loves the forest.  You'll find him constantly trying to talk to people about how great mountain biking is just because he loves to play in the dirt so much.  One of the most considerate people you might ever meet, make sure you take the time to chat with Chris because he truly loves what he does, living, thinking, breathing bikes.

Eric - Service

Eric recently told me that he use to be a better person.  Nothing had really seemed to change too much.  Still a totally nice, honest, genuine dude who loves bikes and making them run properly.  I was kind of stumped.  So I had a burrito with him and he told me about how he had to go visit some family, and I was reminded of how he likes to travel, but I realized that how Eric likes to travel has changed.  You see, I've known more than one bike mechanic in my tenure in bike shops that drives an old Volvo station wagon, and I must say that the miles these two put in commuting over the years really does out-weigh that carbon footprint they've made.  So fill it to the top and let it rip, because when it needs fixin, Eric still has two legs that are rather good transporters.

Jason - Sales

If you are the type of person who likes to make sure that your bike is just the one for you, Jason is your man.  As our "Fit Specialist" Jason takes the extra step and makes sure you are as happy on your bike as he would be on his own.  He loves to ride road and knows the difference between a good ride and a bad ride is the fit, and possibly a bit of endurance.  Jason's got your back, because he wants you to be out there getting those miles in, so he can say hello as he zips on by.

Jeffy - Service

Jeff, or more affectionately known as "Jeffy", has been on staff here at FCC on and off for about four years now.  You see, Jeffy is a college boy and only comes back in the summer to work with us now.  He spends most of his time in Idaho furthering his education, and wowing the locals with "new" California words like "rad, chill, props, digits, hella, and stoked".  Jeffy is not only a master kids bike builder and streamer installer....he is also quite artistic with old bike parts.  In fact, if you feel the need to get some new jewelry, we have some fancy chain link and spoke earrings for sale in the front display case made by you know who.  He's the nicest kid you'll ever meet.

Jeremy- Service

Jeremy, aka, "SNOOP", is one of the nicest and goofiest guys in service.  Loves chillin' and listening to RAP music!   He's an ex bmx racer...and loves to moto!  He's also been wrenching on bikes for quite some time, so your bike is in good hands with Jeremy.

Jimmy-Service

Besides being an excellent mechanic, Jimmy also gave male modeling a career shot.  His first modeling gig happened here at FCC modeling our newest Family Gear.  The word spread quickly about this hot new talented model and soon he started getting phone calls from Vogue Magazine, Versace and various other high profile fashion agencies.  Next thing you know he's being interviewed by Barbara Walters.  In Jimmy's month of modeling fame, he realized that he'd rather be wrenching on bikes, riding his new Enduro, and dreaming about moto.  Glad to have you back Jimmy!

Disclaimer:  Half of Jimmy's profile is a slight exaggeration of the truth.

John - Owner/CEO

jbiz

One summer about twenty years ago John decided to rent a small shack about three blocks from the beach, and start selling bikes he'd been fixing up as well as some new ones.  The timing couldn't have been better; with mountain biking in it's infancy, and it's heritage so near by, as well as a beach town full of tourists and locals John crammed what is now the Chill Out Cafe full of bikes and did his best to make a livelihood from something he loved. Now the shop is located only two doors down sans the Hurry Back Inn (which will be dearly missed), from it's original location, still crammed full of bikes and all the goodies any bike rider might need.  John has said it's kind of like having a family member in the business,  so when you walk into the doors of our shop you should feel right at home.

Kathy Pruitt - Sales/Service

We are stoked to announce that KP, a long time FCC customer and friend, has joined the FCC staff.  Kathy's been on 2 wheels ever since she graduated from her 4 wheeled stroller.  She's been racing dirt bikes and mountain bikes back as far as you can probably remember and is most likely faster than anyone you know.  In fact, last year she was the 3rd fastest woman downhiller in the world.  Don't even think about challenging Kathy to a contest....her competitiveness far surpasses most humans.....ESPECIALLY don't challenge her to a rollerskating contest....you'll be sorry.  Kathy is currently working with us in the service department building bikes.  So, if you want a bike built by a World Champion, come buy a bike at FCC!!!  Also, if you need any bike or race advice, Kathy's full of experience and suggestions and is more than willing to share her wisdom with you.

Lacey- Sales

Lacey, brand new to town, walked right into Family looking for a job...to her surprise she found that her old roommate works at the shop! Since then, Lacey has wowed the staff  (and customers) with her abundant bike knowledge and customer service expertise.  Coincidentally, her addition to the staff also set a record at FCC for the most females on staff. That's exciting for just about everyone!!!  KP's so excited that often times they coordinate outfits to wear to work together!  Oh yeah, she's also our local poison oak expert...

Matt Hrabko - Service/Sales

Matt is your typical bike shop dude... likes to drink beer, grow crazy facial hair, make jokes, and seriously shred the %#@# out of some singletrack.  Matt trudged around a VP-Free for quite a while just to make us all wonder why we had to pedal such light bikes around, and still have excuses for gettin whooped.  This fellow has quite the proper trail education to help answer any questions you may have regarding which bike would make the ultimate ride for your off-road endeavors.  Just remember, the answers you get may depend on how deep he is into the six pack you just brought him!

Mike - Operations Manager

Oh, this dude...."Moto Mike" has been harassing me on the phone ever since I started working at this place.  He would call from his shop up in Scotts Valley (SV Cyclesport) and pretend to be the World Wrestling Federation calling for Bobbles.  I learned quickly to recognize exactly who was making these strange phone calls into the shop.  Mike rejoins FCC as our new operations manager after taking a 10 year break from us.  Other than being an expert prank caller, Mike also demonstrates excellent go cart racing abilities, loves to moto and mountain bike and has a heap of knowledge about bicycles.  We are stoked to have you Mike!

Sandra and Jacques - Bookkeepers

Sandra and Jacques...the dynamic duo.  These two come in a few times a week and do an excellent job keeping our books.  Jacques more does a cute little waddle in and gives everyone a high five, then heads upstairs to get to work.  They have been with us for quite some time now and we look forward to keeping them around.
